How to Add Indictment Counts to a Case

This tutorial will provide instructions on how to add indictment counts to a case in CivicCase.

1. Locate a Case in CivicCase

Begin by locating a case in the CivicCase application. Refer to the "How to Search for a Case" tutorial video for assistance with the case search process.

2. Go to the Indictment Tab

Open the indictment tab.

3. Add an Indictment Count

To add an indictment count, click the "add count" button

4. Search for a Statute

Search for an offense by clicking on the statute or statute description field.

5. Enter a statute search term

Users can look up statutes by entering text from the statute description, or by searching for the statute number.

6. Further refine results by using the filter field

To further refine statute search results, users can filter using the "filter results" box.

7. Choose a statute

Select the appropriate statute from the filtered search result list.

8. Enter additional count details

Enter additional information for the count, such as the date of the offense, the victim, and the defendant's relationship to the victim.

9. Fill out Victim information (if applicable)

Click the selected option

10. Add relationship information (if applicable)

Select this option

11. Click "save"

Save the record to add the indictment count to the case

12. Add Charging Language

To add charging language click the charge language button.

13. Choose the desired Charging Language version

14. Save the Record

Once the charging language has been added or modified to suit the specific details of the case, press the save button.
